Prices

Here are some answers to questions you may have about how we price our services:

Via the left-hand menu you will find guideline prices for vaccinations and consultations and also some of the common routine operations, which we perform each weekday at our Gosport and Stubbington clinics.

  • The exact cost of a procedure may depend on the weight of your pet. Wherever possible we try to include everything necessary in the listed price including VAT.
  • We do not expect you to pay add-ons, unless unforeseen expenses are incurred--e.g. a buster collar or additional pain relief (some animals have a lower pain threshold).
  • At no extra cost all routine surgical patients receive pain relief before the operation commences. Pre-operative pain treatment gives our patients a more pleasant recovery and stretches over the post operative period.
  • All of the suture materials, anaesthetics, drugs and dressings are of the best available quality. We do not scrimp on quality, your pet is too important to us.
  • On the day of the operation your pet is checked by a surgeon at a pre-op appointment to ensure that he/she is fit for a general anaesthetic. This is a free check-up. You are free to ask any questions you may have about the procedure.
  • Between our surgeons and nurses lies the experience of thousands, and in some cases many thousands, of general anaesthetics. We are very proud of our anaesthetic safety record, but are never complacent.
  • Our operations are done on site, animals are not transported to another site for routine surgery.
  • On the rare occasion that an animal experiences problems after going home (e.g. the animal is in pain, has pulled its stitches out etc.) we are on hand 24 hours to help.
  • We do all of our own out of hours work, you will not be asked to travel to some distant destination in Portsmouth or Southampton.
  • Finally, we routinely check your pet 1-2 weeks after surgery, this is free, unless unexpected complications have occurred.
